Dr. Pankaj Shah

Pankaj Shah, MD, is a graduate of University of Bombay, Bombay, India. He is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and currently Clinical Instructor in OB/GYN at Harvard Medical School as a staff physician with Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates since 1979. Dr. Shah exemplifies leadership in medicine through his involvement in many medical organizations and his phenomenal contributions to IMANE over the years. As President of IMANE in 1992, he published a Directory of IMANE members for the first time and arranged a Symposium for the Indian community on "Coronary Artery Disease in Indians Living in the USA." He also helped build IMANE's reputation nationally as the New England Regional Director for the American Association of Physicians from India from 1993-1995 and as the Chair of the 1996 AAPI Convention held in Boston. He has displayed advocacy on behalf of Indian physicians through his extensive involvement with Massachusetts Medical Society over the years, serving as a Delegate from Norfolk District to the MMS House of Delegates, Chair of the Special Committee for International Medical Graduates from 1993-1996 and is a past member and Vice-Chair of the MMS Committee on Maternal and Perinatal Welfare. He is a past member of Brigham and Women's OB/GYN Executive Committee and currently serves on the Brigham and Women's GYN Tissue and Medical Practice Committee.
