The Indian Medical Association of New England (IMANE) elected a new executive committee, a new board of trustees and a new president, Dr. Seema Arora. The new committee and the board assume office on Jan. 1, 2015. Dr. Arora replaces Dr. Sajani Shah Kapasi as its president.

Here are the members of the new executive committee of IMANE:

I am also deeply committed to working towards financial stability of IMANE so that we can continue to generate funds for educational and community events now and in future."

Dr. Arora said the team work is the key to success and that she is looking forward to having a great year for IMANE in 2015.

"Every President contributes to the organization through their unique strengths. I hope to utilize my strengths of community outreach, networking, teamwork and coordinating cultural shows to increase membership, raise funds and to continue our mission of community service, medical education and mentorship for young physicians," said Dr. Arora. 

During its 36th annual meeting, which was held at Cambridge Marriott hotel in Cambridge, MA, on Saturday, Nov. 23, IMANE also honored some of its members and distinguished physicians:
