Indian Medical Association of New England
The Waltham Clinic was started in 2004. The clinic provides free basic medical care to poor, undeserved, or uninsured patients from the surrounding communities. With both the staff and patients coming from diverse background. The health clinic is truly a community effort. Patient range from healthy people looking for a physical before beginning a new job to those suffering from chronic diseases. Although the services offered are simple, volunteer health clinics like this one in Waltham help to lessen the impact on local emergency rooms by identifying and/or alleviating health problems and bringing health care and knowledge to people who otherwise would not have access. While patients appreciate the time and attention to their needs, the volunteers may gain the most because the opportunity to truly help someone in a time of need is truly a privilege.
With the help of IMANE, United Immanuel Methodist Church, and local health care providers, the Waltham Area Free Health Clinic is actively trying to grow and further establish itself in the community. If you have spare medical supplies, medication, time or even specialized medical service to donate, consider the Waltham Area Free Clinic. Dr. Kunwar Singh has been volunteering all these years on Mondays every month.
